The Desire for Relationships; Part 1.
I've learnt that there is no seeing eye to eye. I've come to understand that there is no one that will ever understand you, and that the yearning we feel for someone to connect with on a level inexplicable by words or examples, is a futile pursuit. It is within you. Not her. Not him. You. The needs of our consciousness are perpetually in flux, there is no synchronising with that of another, because that flux, and all its unpredictable and distinct oscillations, is truly the only form in which any real sense of 'I' exists. It is unique to you. Looking for someone to align yourself with is pure denial of this fact, because it is not possible. This is not a depressing or defeated realisation, I assure you. It is, I know, the only source of peace for your heart. Consider true, true independence. To simply render disappointment, in any meaningful sense, impossible. Once you take responsibility for the gaps in your understanding of yourself, and practise introspection, a sense of self will emerge, defined and de-cluttered of the contributions of others, others whose intentions can never be in your interest alone. Before entering a relationship, which is ultimately a period of time in which two individuals revel in the presence of each others own unique flux, and the feelings, events and experiences which their collaboration bears, you must know yourself wholly. If your understanding of yourself is fragmented, and conflicted, you will only find dejection and self doubt in the actions of your partner, in the end. To be continued...
